ABOUT THE ROLE
As Sales Manager, you will take overall responsibility for developing IMCD’s position in the Norwegian market by combining technical understanding with customer interaction. You will manage and grow a portfolio of customers, identify new business opportunities, and collaborate closely with IMCD’s Nordic sales and technical teams to deliver innovative, customer-specific solutions.
The role is well suited for a candidate with a technical background who is motivated to develop into a customer-facing and commercial position.
The position is based in Oslo, with flexibility for the right candidate to work from another location in Norway. Regular travel within Norway and across the Nordic region is expected.
Your key responsibilities include:
Manage and develop sales activities within the assigned customer and product portfolio, with a strong focus on technical value creation and long-term customer development.
Build and maintain long-term partnerships with customers through technical dialogue and application understanding.
Identify and drive new business opportunities, projects, and applications based on customer needs and technical solutions.
Explore potential with industrial service companies within key industry segments.
Negotiate commercial terms and monitor performance with support from the organisation when needed.
Collaborate closely with the Nordic technical team and product managers to deliver customer-specific solutions and technical support.
ABOUT YOU
The ideal candidate combines technical understanding with commercial drive and relationship-building skills. You may currently work in a technical, laboratory, application, or product-related role and be looking to move into a more commercial position.
You are comfortable working both independently and as part of a Nordic organisation and bring a humble, positive, and solution-oriented mindset.
Qualifications and experience:
Degree in chemistry, materials science, construction technology – or equivalent industry experience.
Minimum 3 years of experience in technical or B2B sales within specialty chemicals, coatings, construction materials, oil & energy, or metallurgical/process industries.
Commercial experience is an advantage but not a requirement; motivation to work in a customer-facing role is key.
Fluent in Norwegian and English, written and spoken.
Self-driven, structured, communicative, and team oriented.
